Difficult as it may have been, time seems to have vindicated the commoner king’s decision, as it has been 7 years and nothing has been heard from the dragon or his soldiers. Westmoreland remains a violent, lawless place where monsters and tribal peoples scrape out a living and compete with each other for ever dwindling resources. The dragon remains in An Corr Castle and none have dared disturb him. Behind the wall without a gate the kingdom of thorns has recovered and grown, their beloved king growing wiser and more powerful from his fae born sorcery with each passing day. The Moritz family have become pariahs in the kingdoms nobility, their title and land claims only retained thanks to the limbo their county is in with the disappearance of their lord. The people of Westmoreland have largely moved on, becoming serfs and servants to other lords. The last bastion of the old county is Crossport, a bustling town hugging the edge of the Losslake and the wall without a gate. It is in Crossport where our story begins.
